QuestLog is a financial control application with gamification elements. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Your financial data is stored ONLY on your device
No automatic synchronization with servers
Compliance with GDPR (EU) and LGPD (BR)

2. Data Collected

QuestLog only collects the data necessary to function:

Transactions (title, value, category, date)
Statistics (XP, level, achievements)
Preferences (theme, language, budget)
Anonymous Technical & Usage Data (device model, OS version, crash logs, and generic app interactions)

❌ We Do NOT Collect:

Personally identifiable information (such as names, emails, or passwords)
Precise location (GPS or coordinates)
Contacts or media files
Hardware identifiers (such as MAC address, IMEI, or device fingerprint)
Any data that uniquely identifies your device

3. Data Storage

📱 Local Storage (Primary)

All financial and user-generated data is stored locally on your device:

Local database (Hive)
Protected by OS-level encryption (if enabled)
No cloud synchronization
Accessible only within the app

You have full control. You can export, back up, or delete your data at any time in Settings.

☁️ Third-Party Processing (Limited)

QuestLog uses third-party services for analytics, stability, and advertising:

Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics)
Google AdMob (Ads)

These services may process limited anonymous technical and usage data necessary for app functionality and improvement.

4. Ads (Google AdMob)

How It Works

QuestLog uses Google AdMob to keep the app free. Ads are always displayed.

📱 Monetization Model:

Ads are required to support the free version
Personalized ads: Google may use anonymized data
Non-personalized ads: No interest-based targeting
Advertising ID can be reset in your device settings

🔒 Your Privacy:

You can change your ad preference at any time
Ads will continue to be displayed regardless of your choice
Google processes ad data independently under its own policies

4.5. Telemetry & Analytics (Firebase)

To improve stability and user experience, QuestLog uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.

🔧 Stability (Crashlytics)

In case of crashes, anonymous error reports are sent
Includes: error logs, device model, and OS version
Used strictly for debugging and fixing issues

📊 Usage (Analytics)

Anonymous, aggregated usage data is collected
Examples: screens visited, feature usage, language preferences, generic events (e.g., “level_up”)
Helps improve usability and prioritize features

📍 Approximate Location

Firebase may infer approximate location (such as country or city) based on IP address
This data is used only in aggregated form
It is NOT used to identify individual users

🔒 Privacy Guarantee

No financial data (transactions, values, categories) is sent to Firebase
No personally identifiable information is collected
No unique device identifiers are used

5. Your Rights (GDPR/LGPD)

🔍 Right of Access You can export all your data as JSON via “Backup” in Settings.

🔄 Right to Portability Exported data can be used in other apps or printed.

❌ Right to be Forgotten You can delete all data with one tap via “Clear Data”.

⚙️ Right to Rectification You can edit any transaction or setting within the app.

6. Data Changes

QuestLog does not provide automatic synchronization.

If you uninstall the app:

All local data is permanently deleted
No backups are stored on external servers

👉 Recommendation: Regularly back up your data using the in-app Backup feature.

7. Legal Compliance

✅ GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) Compliant with Articles 5, 6, 12, 15, 17, and 20.

✅ LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law) Compliant with Articles 5, 7, 9, 12, 18, and 19.
